-COTES DE BORDEAUX AOC -
The Cotes de Bordeaux appellation was created in 2009 to bring together several cotes of Bordeaux under a single banner – the idea being to improve the marketability of the wines in question and simplify the overall Bordelais appellation structure.
The Côtes de Bordeaux represent 10% of the total production of Bordeaux wines, covers 11 000 hectares and has 1 000 winegrowers, divided into 4 "terroirs": Blaye, Cadillac, Castillon and Francs. Located on the right bank of two rivers, the Garonne and the Dordogne on hillslide vineyards, the Côtes de Bordeaux Wines enjoy ideal exposure for producing quality wines. The red wines (97% of production) are fruity and expressive with Merlot as the main grape varietal.
